How to Create an Offer Outline for Your Services

To thrive, you have to let people know that you have a solution for their problems. This is why you need a clear offer outline. Being able to communicate who you help and the results they can achieve will help sell your services.

A good offer is about turning prospective clients into paying clients - where they take action and book to work with you.

Telling people, you’re a homeopath, herbalist, or hypnotherapist and offering appointments isn’t good enough unless they’re searching for a practitioner within your discipline.

Creating an outline for each of your services will help you communicate what you do - effectively. This is simply a document for your reference, which can be copied and adapted to be used in your marketing, making it easier and faster to do.

Identify the Problem

When people struggle, they constantly think about the problems they’re having – it’s what keeps them awake at night! By identifying the problem that your clients are struggling with, you’ll be able to demonstrate that you understand how they’re feeling, as well as being able to offer a solution.

Benefits Before Features

Creating an offer for your services will help you get clear and communicate the benefits of what you do across your marketing.

Most practitioners offer a list of features, e.g., a 60-minute online hypnotherapy session, before they share the expected impact or results of working with them.

Changing to sharing benefits, e.g., achieving a peaceful night’s sleep – this will resonate with someone looking to resolve their sleep issues.

Features do appear in your offer, but the benefits will sell your offer.

Offer Outline

To create your offer outline, complete the pointers below, following the examples.

Service: A simple description of your offer, e.g., 90-minute clinical session, or 8-week sleep programme.

Ideal client: Who is this service for? E.g., peri-menopausal and menopausal women who are struggling with sleep.

Problem: What are your clients struggling with in relation to what you offer? By understanding their problem in their language, they will know you get them. For example:

  • Women who are struggling to sleep and feeling constantly exhausted.
  • They’re experiencing night sweats and their partner’s snoring is adding to keeping them awake.
  • The lack of sleep is affecting their mood and their confidence.

Outcome: these are the benefits of your services, what is the transformation you’re offering? For example:

  • Achieve a cool, peaceful night’s sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead.
  • Feeling like they’re back to their old self again.

What’s included: these are the features of your service, for example:

  • 90-minute in-person hypnotherapy appointment
  • Recording of the session

or

  • 1 x 60-minute Zoom session
  • 3 x 45-minute Zoom sessions every 2-weeks
  • Email check-in on weeks between sessions
  • Personalised prescription following each session

Price: What are you charging for this service?

Next step: What is the next step for your clients to take after this service? E.g., book another appointment in a week, or move to a monthly 45-minute Zoom session and continue with monthly personalised prescriptions.

Testimonials: Do you have testimonials from happy clients? Ideally for this service but if not, testimonials about working with you.

By having this offer outline for each of your services, you’ll be able to cut and paste the information into your website, social media posts, leaflets, presentations, etc. with minimal effort. It will also give you a template to create other services and products and package them together. It will also help you to have great conversations and easily articulate what you do which is key to finding clients.
