ABOUT HELEN HARDING
Helping health and wellbeing professionals attract consistent clients – without relying on social media
I’m Helen Harding, a Chartered Marketer and former wellbeing practitioner.
I know how different marketing feels when your business is personal, your work matters deeply, and you are the person who has to step forward and talk about it.
Drawing on more than 30 years in marketing and 14 years of running my own health and wellbeing practice, I help practitioners find a simpler, more sustainable way to attract clients – one that works with their strengths, time and energy.
I’m trusted by individual practitioners, training organisations and professional bodies as an experienced, ethical marketing expert.
I'VE WALKED IN YOUR SHOES
After years of working in marketing, I reached a point where I felt stuck. I wanted my work to feel more meaningful, so I followed my interest in personal development and retrained as a practitioner.
Then redundancy pushed me into self-employment sooner than I'd planned.
Although I had years of business and marketing experience, I had always worked behind the scenes, promoting others. Now I was the person in the spotlight and, as an introvert, I found that daunting.
I knew I could help my clients, but being good at the work was not enough. I had to become visible so potential clients could find me. I soon realised that copying the latest marketing trends was never going to work for me – I needed an approach that suited my personality, values and way of working.
Within four years of qualifying, I was earning a very good living as a practitioner. I also had the privilege of seeing clients make profound changes in their health and wellbeing, knowing I had played a part in that.
But not everyone I trained alongside had the same experience.
Many brilliant practitioners returned to employment, disillusioned, and left behind their dreams of helping others. Their ability was not the problem – they simply had not found a way to attract enough clients.
Over time, I realised that this was where my two worlds came together.
After 14 years as a practitioner, I decided to step away from clinical work and focus on helping other health and wellbeing professionals build viable businesses.
Today, I combine my professional marketing experience with a genuine understanding of what it feels like when your work is personal, visibility feels vulnerable and every marketing decision matters.
My role is to help you calm the chaos, work out what will genuinely support your business and build a way of attracting clients that fits who you are.
MY EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
I worked in marketing before the Apple Mac was even invented
I started my career as a studio junior, where I had the opportunity to train in every aspect of a busy design studio. I later qualified as a graphic designer in the days of magic marker pens and drawing boards.
From there, I moved into project management, coordinating the production of a monthly catalogue of more than 300 pages and organising the creative work, schedules and suppliers needed to deliver it on time.
Next came print and packaging buying, where I was responsible for a budget of around ÂŁ2 million. This gave me a strong grounding in commercial decision-making, supplier and budget management, and making sure creative ideas translated successfully into print.
After training with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, I moved into senior management, marketing, and brand roles. From Studio Manager to Head of Brand, I was part of the team responsible for shaping the organisation’s wider brand and marketing decisions.
I have maintained Chartered Marketer status for more than 20 years. Across these roles, I learned how to turn ideas into clear messages, manage complex projects and make practical marketing decisions that support the wider business.
Stepping into the world of personal development and client work
I trained in clinical hypnotherapy and coaching and became an NLP Master Practitioner. Discovering the power of the mind-body connection changed the direction of my career.
For 14 years, I specialised in delivering the Lightning Process® and became one of its most experienced practitioners worldwide. I also sat on the Professional Conduct Committee and worked as an examiner and mentor to the next generation of practitioners.
This experience gave me a first-hand understanding of what it takes to build trust, talk responsibly about health and wellbeing, and grow a practice when the work feels deeply personal. I also know the privilege of seeing clients transform their lives and knowing you played a part in that change.
A background in professional development also allows me to recognise the confidence and mindset challenges that often sit beneath marketing problems – from fear of visibility and self-doubt to perfectionism and discomfort around selling. This means I can support practitioners with both the practical marketing decisions and the personal challenges that can make taking action difficult.
Helping health and wellbeing practitioners succeed
My two careers began to come together when Middlesex University invited me to design and deliver an eight-week business and marketing programme for complementary health students.
Since then, I’ve designed and delivered workshops, talks and training for individual practitioners, training organisations and professional bodies, including the College of Osteopaths, the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths. Through this work, I’ve helped practitioners make clearer, more confident decisions about their businesses.
My content marketing also led to an unexpected book contract when a publisher joined my email list, read my work and invited me to write a book.
Eventually, I made the difficult decision to step away from clinical practice and focus fully on helping other practitioners attract clients and build viable businesses. It is where my professional marketing experience and understanding of the wellbeing world can have the greatest impact.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Mad Dog Lady
I love my dogs! Fawkes came to live with us from Dogs Trust and, from the start, he has given me the best cuddles. Although, as you can see, he thinks he is a lap dog.
Home Bird
I could be described as location independent as I work online, but I am a total home bird. Most days, you will find me in my little office, joined by Bella and Fawkes as they patiently wait for me to entertain or feed them.
New Adventures
We enjoyed an amazing 10-year adventure in Wales, renovating a beautiful Victorian house with land and a holiday let. In 2025, we decided it was time to be closer to family and friends and began a new, simpler chapter in Suffolk.
